| The Minneapolis Plate Division has an outstanding opportunity for a career-oriented individual interested in a Maintenance Supervision career.
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing the efforts of the maintenance staff to ensure maintenance tasks for the entire division are performed in a safe and timely manner, in addition to supervising, training and coaching the maintenance staff. Additionally, the Maintenance Supervisor will organize and maintain preventative maintenance requirements, scheduling and material, as well as troubleshoot and participate in production and plant asset maintenance. The Maintenance Supervisor will also monitor and maintain consumables, manage the maintenance costs per machine and equipment, work with outside vendors to obtain quotes for projects and direct related work. Other responsibilities include planning tasks and projects, monitoring and maintaining the interior/exterior of the facility and property, monitoring the condition of the building security system, notifying management of problems affecting the production schedule and managing and executing corrective maintenance, improving production capabilities by effectively managing the maintenance staff, and sustaining preventative maintenance programs. The Maintenance Supervisor will provide technical assistance to the maintenance staff, as well as continually review machine productivity and processes and execute corrections to improve efficiency, diagnose and repair machine parts and equipment, and recommend equipment purchases as necessary.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have experience in a steel service center or related manufacturing environment, and Technical degree in related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Other qualifications include:
- Precise math skills and ability to use precision instrument tools
- Demonstrated ability to use hand and welding tools
- Proficiency of CMMS, specifically Data Stream MP2
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
- Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop departmental budget and track actual performance to budget
- Demonstrated leadership ability, experience managing a staff of 3+ direct reports
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems
- Training or experience operating and repairing or troubleshooting Trumpf lasers, ESAB Oxyfuel cutting systems, ESAB Avenger Plasmas, and other divisional equipment
- Experience operating and troubleshooting press brakes and machining centers preferred
