Responsibilities

This position manages the overall sales and marketing effort for Olympic Steel within an assigned territory. The Outside Sales Rep must utilize frequent, direct face-to-face contact and a consultative sales approach to insure satisfaction of customer needs and confidence in Olympic Steel’s overall capabilities. The Outside Sales Rep must utilize every customer contact to identify selling opportunities, selects those that are most desirable, and assertively acts upon the opportunities that offer maximum potential and/or profit. Must develop new accounts and maintain strong working relationships with established, loyal customers. In addition, this position is responsible for developing annual forecasts and implementing plans and strategies to achieve revenue and volume targets. Will partner with the Inside Sales Representative to assure high-quality service, including on time delivery according to customer specifications.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years related work experience in a sales and customer service position, preferably in a steel service environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or related field or commensurate related experience required
• High energy and drive, strong business and data analysis skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, strong administrative support
• Computer skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), as well as, facilitation and training skills
