The Chicago Division is seeking a Product Specialist experienced in heat treated/abrasion resistant steel plate (A514, AR200, AR400, AR500, 130/160,000 minimum yield and all other grades in this plate classification).

The Product Specialist serves as a product knowledge resource and provides sales support for HT/Abrasion resistant plate products. Responsible for costing, pricing, and providing quotes to sales reps for all non-standard items. Responsible for the technical sales and education of a defined specialty product or related set of products to the engineering and/or sales departments of our targeted customer base. Handles direct phone solicitation of these products with additional responsibility for matching customer end use, product application, grade / specification required to create a Customer Cost Advantage, (CCA) in the product manufacturing. Responsible for and works with Product Managers to manage the specialty product inventory. May also assist the Leadership team and National Sales Managers to coordinate the global supply base to maximize profitability of major contracts, as well as develop and prospect product leads for Olympic’s sales staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years relevant industry and plate product knowledge; Background in fabrication sales a plus
• HS Diploma or equivalent required; Undergraduate degree in related field preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent presentation and customer service aptitude
• Strong business acumen and computer skills
• Must possess ability and willingness to travel
